Dismantling the "Islamic Dilemma"
Mohammed HijabThis is Avery's best argument against Islam and his best argument for the Islamic dilemma. And he's saying this proves that the Quran is saying you have to go back to the Bible. But here's a very simple question: Does it say, does it say check the Bible? Does it say read their book? No. Actually, what it says is ask those who. It's a reference to people, not a reference to the book directly. That's a very, very important point. Your whole argument is that it is confirming a book, but technically this isn't even telling you to check the book. It's saying what? Talk to people. And which people?
Those who used to read. Why do they stop? Because the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) came and they converted. They converted to Islam. They became Muslims. Before, they used to read the book. Now they don't.
AveryThat's a good point as well.
Mohammed HijabThere's a few points here. You're not actually checking text, because if you want to check the text, you check the text. But no, if it says ask people, people have a general idea. They're like, "Look, I know what's generally in there." So get a general concept. That's first.
AveryThat's a good point. That's a good point. Yeah.
Mohammed HijabSecondly, it's about the people who've already converted. Thirdly, what was the context? It's what is it means that it's branching? It's branching back into the into the context. What was the context prior to this? This is Surah Yunus, right? Chapter 10, verse 94. Just look prior to that, from 71 to 74, it was about [Noah] and his victory against the enemies despite the fact that they were way bigger than him and way stronger than him. After that, from 75 to 93 is about what? About Musa (peace be upon him), how he had victory against his powerful enemies.
About given that context, about prophets being small in number and small following against a huge army and a huge opposition, you are against Muhammad. But if theoretically you are up against this huge army and you are having some sort of a fear or doubt, then don't worry. You might not be, the Arabs might not be in general very well read or very well aware of the story of [Noah], the story of Musa (peace be upon him), etc. They might not be as familiar. The Jews know it very well, so ask them. They will be able to inform you and tell you prophets can go up against all odds and they will win in the end. So if you have any doubt theoretically, just ask these converts that are around you. They're going to be very familiar with [Noah] and with Musa (peace be upon him) and how against all odds they still [won].
