The Power of Charity

I've always realized that when you give money in charity, something easy happens in your life. Something that you don't expect. You might be having some difficulty in your life right now. Something might be happening, like for example, you're trying to get married, or for example, you're trying to get a job, or for example, you're trying to pass an exam. I've just spoken about so many exams that I've done in my life.

But when you give a bit of it, it's like Allah opens a door for you. He makes things easy for you because you've tried to make things easy for someone else. As the Arabs say, "recompense is from the same genus." So if you do good, you get good. And this is it, you know, if you do good, especially in sadaqa, there's something special that you're given.

So it's not just we talk about the hereafter and the scales, but the truth is, in this dunya, you might even see immediate effect. It might be an immediate effect. You might give charity today, tomorrow your life might get easier straight away. That's how the cosmos works, how Allah is in control of it.
